I wanted to share one of my favourite RC car actions, so, I thought to post a blog about it today. Well it's about my Traxxas Slash 4x4 Ultimate Edition kit and it's 10 feet high jumps on a Dutch skate park in the Netherlands, called Malieveld. By the way, ultimate edition trucks have alloy parts & have different toe in angles. So you might want to adjust that for high air jumps. You can find below my setup & an awesome Video of the jumps & drifts :)
Traxxas has made the itself the best brand in the market in terms of high speed racing. Most of the times Traxxas is expensive than other options but also top quality and reliabile. Short Course racing includes some real off road experience and awesome AWD bashing!
Traxxas has been the benchmark of engineering in short course rc trucks. They first came up with Traxxas Slash 2WD and about a year later released the 4WD version named as Slash 4x4. Both of which have been leading the short course racing since years now.
I was struggling to make my stock Axial SCX10 TR more capable specially in terms of smooth torque while climbing & going down steep descends, more like wishing for the real Land Rover Defender's Torque and Hill Descend Control ;-). Below, you'll read more about what I installed and the complete configuration I did. But first, I shall let you know how it behaves after all the upgrades :)
I just upgraded my iMAX B5 charger to iMAX B6 Quattro Multicharger and thought to share my views with all the RC community. I think it's a very good upgrade for all those RC Hobbyists with couple of RC kits in their shelves. More RC Kits means more battery packs. Hence the need to charge multiple battery packs at the same time.
The stock AND the Platinum Slash 4x4 trucks are both setup out of the box geared toward super high bite surfaces like parking lots, asphalt and stuff like that. That is why there is a level of push in the chassis and the stiff front end. Since most of the people buying them will be driving them on all sorts of random terrain and a lot of streets and parking lots, this makes sense.
However, for the track racers out there, know that with a few changes you can have it dialed on the track. The entire chassis package is an awesome machine and is very capable of being fast. There's a ton of steering and corner speed in this truck with the right adjustments. Here's a few initial changes I'd recommend before throwing it down on the track for the first time. I'll post the rest of the setup afterward.
This video shows how this setup behaves on bumpy dirt grounds for example
